How to file divorce in North Carolina?
I’ve never done this before and I need to know the actual steps to filing for a divorce in the state of North Carolina. There are no children and everything has already been decided on who’s getting what. Just need to know how to actually file.
Thanks!!!

If you’re filing for a no-fault divorce, NC requires a one-year separation. So have you been separated for a year?
If it’s uncontested, it’s really easy. You just have to file for a Petition to dissolve the marriage. You can hire a paralegal, or look for a good divorce attorney. If you have it all straightened out, and both parties will just sign the paper work and submit it to the court. You can go to your county’s Supreme Court clerk’s office and request the forms to fill out yourself.
i dunno……..i’m a proud canadian.
