A cursory glance at the social statistics reveals that the things are really a bit unbridled. In 1999, Kentucky had a divorce rate of 5.5/1000 population, far above the national average of 4.1/1000 population. Superficially the divorce rate seems to be on the decline. In 1990, Kentucky had a divorce rate of 5.8/1000 population, which shot up to 5.9/1000 population in 1995. Then followed a trend towards decline with the divorce rate being 5.1/1000 population in 2001, which further receded to 4.9/1000 population in the year 2004. However this downward trend is apt to lose its validity, considering the high rate of cohabitation and Out-of-Wedlock birth rate in Kentucky. At the same time, the fading away of conventional restraining influences, with 46.57% of the population not being attached to any church, the social institutions seem to be susceptible to an enhanced level of pressure and stress.

Complicated laws entangle the divorcing couple into legal hassles and aggravate their unhappy state. Unable to solve through the judicial issues, separating spouses get forced to hire expensive solicitors and fight out long-drawn court battles. This compels the entire family into the court room. Children and other relatives get sucked into the case giving testimony. Moreover, hiring divorce lawyers drains the already sparse family resources. Families slip into extreme economic difficulty following the separation.
Divorce isn’t quite as easy as many people think. For many people, divorce is their first experience with courts and the legal system. For other people, negotiation efforts, including asset division, child custody, alimony, and other issues can be settled without the need for a trip to court. However, the laws on divorce differ by state, so it is best to consult an expert. For instance, if you are contemplating a divorce in the state of Illinois, obtaining legal representation by a qualified Chicago divorce attorney can ensure a smooth and fair divorce settlement. The following overview provides crucial information about the legal grounds for divorce, child custody issues, alimony, and the division of assets.
Divorce is never easy on anyone. But if you can go the route of a cheap uncontested divorce, that cuts out a lot of the difficulty from the process. It also cuts out a lot of the expense. And when a couple finds that going their separate ways is the right thing for them, keeping the process simple and inexpensive makes it much less of an ordeal for both parties. One way to do that is to take advantage of online divorce services. Two of the best of this type of online divorce resources are Legal Zoom and Complete Case.
It helps to understand what we are talking about when we use terms like cheap uncontested divorce or no contest divorce. When both of you agree that there will be no challenge to the divorce and that you will cooperate with the process, that is an uncontested divorce. If one of the marriage partners fights the divorce and wants to take it to court to try to stop it from happening, that is a contested divorce.
