I need to find a way to view my husband’s divorce decree online without paying a fee. I need this information for personal uses.
ok see its for my husband and his ex. I can’t ask her for her papers (its just not an option) and we have misplaced his copies. He has primary and sole custody of the two kids he had with the ex and I have been raising them. She now wants visitation, which is fine but we all want to do it right and I can’t seem to find our set of papers that has the guidelines for the visitations.
I already know why they divorced.
Ok I figured that is what I would have to do, I just thought with everything being high tech and digital they would have a way to view documents over three years old online. Oh well. Guess I will have him order the papers. Thanks for the answers!

With the Freedom to Information Act (1966), Free Divorce Records and various others such as Marriage, Birth, Death, Criminal records and so forth became public records. This applies to all states although the use and treatment of these records are subject to variations in laws between the states. They are widely available from both government and private sources and County Divorce Records in Texas are known to date as far back as the 19th century.

Texas Divorce Records is placed under the Texas Department of State Health Services. Along with Marriage, Birth and Death records, divorce records are available through their Vital Statistics Unit and are sectioned under the Report of Divorce Index. They can be downloaded free of charge from the department website and are available to the public. Conditions and procedures apply. About a hundred thousand Texas Divorces since 1968 are on file but the office only issues their Letters of Verification.

I did the entire divorce online and I have all my papers ready to go, my ex has signed all the papers and all the notorized papers are done too. All I have to do is go tomorro to get a hearing date, which i was wondering about how long does that usually take. He is deployed and will not be present (he did sign a waiver for that). My other question how long does it take to get it all finalized. The reason why I am asking is, Im planning to join the Marines and I want to be in bootcamp by July. Since all my paperwork is ready to go i figured I should be ready to go but after looking at how long divorces take, im starting to think it may not be ready within a month. Has anybody gone though an uncontested divorce/simplified divorce (with NO kids)? And this is in Illinois.

She is in California, Im in Utah, we have a 1 year old daughter, we have nothing else, no houses, no cars, no real property.
