Am i entitled to child support in illinois if we file divorce and have joint custody of the children?
Question by lissasmurf27: Am i entitled to child support in illinois if we file divorce and have joint custody of the children?
My x says does not have to pay child support if we agree to joint custody and if I ask for it in divorce then he will start a full custody battle. Does anyone know how this works ? He makes a lot more than I and I already walked away from my house and pets. Now he wants the kids too!

Divorce – Alimony/Child Support ‘Stay married or get divorced?’?
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
I have been with my boyfriend for over a year and he is currently legally married (he’s 36 she’s 34 – married 17 years and very young) he has been separated (not legally) for over 2 years after they lost their house (he was the sole income provider) they have 3 boys, which he gives her $1500 every month without fail and see’s his boys 2-5 times a week, gets them on the weekends and the youngest practically lives with him. He makes 60,000 a year and she has been working for over 2 years (not sure what her income is), we want to move in together and get married. He is a very hard worker and an amazing father to his son’s and aside from the support he buys all their clothes, shoes and anything that they need. He wants to start the divorce because I refuse to move in with him since he’s legally married. But now that I have been searching online about divorce maybe it’s better to leave the situation as is. How much alimony/spousal support and for how long would the California Law make him pay his wife? Also he has saved all receipts for his Child Support paid to her for the past 26 months. Does anyone know how much more he would have to pay her?
I appreciate your help or any advice I just don’t want him to get the divorce to add any stress since he had a stroke last year died and came back, but has a hospital job with great benefits for himself and his kids. But she has been trying to get back with him for the last year and showed up to his job and hit him after he asked her to leave and he had to call security to escort her out.
